Ezra Levant, my doughty comrade in the war to consigned Canada's perverted "human rights" commissions to the trashcan of history, has posted a few more pictures of our hatemongers-on-the-town night in Ottawa on May 5th - specifically the late-night pizza party the Prime Minister's wife, Laureen Harper, very graciously hosted after the event at 24 Sussex Drive.
Meanwhile, in last week's issue of Maclean's, their diarist Mitchell Raphael had an item about the evening (scroll down), including the apparently obligatory picture of me either demonstrating the Birdie Song or (according to one excitable leftie blogger) bragging about certain body parts. (More on the night here.)
By the way, the Binksmeister over at Free Canuckistan has discovered a new blog about the "human rights" enforcers called Freedom Through Truth. Despite the name, which sounds like a 'tween-wars Mitteleuropean Fascist youth-movement slogan, Binks thinks it shows some promise.
And don't forget, both Ezra's book, Shakedown, and my latest, Lights Out, are available from the Steyn Store.
Incidentally, I've been nominated for the National Magazine Awards (scroll down), which will be announced in Toronto next month. Don't worry, I can handle losing, as long as Coyne or Wells don't win. But I am pleased to see that among the three nominated columns is one of the first I wrote for Maclean's on our "human rights" battle.
PS After an hilariously ill-informed post declaring that I had been chased out of Canada (National Magazine Awards and pizza at 24 Sussex notwithstanding), the endearingly inept blogger at the soi-disant Bipartisan Report dug in deeper and responded:
If being friends with a PM’s wife is criteria for anything Mick Jagger should be a Canadian hero to those who can remember back to PE Trudeau.
If that's his best shot at a devastating insult, I'll take it as a compliment. Not sure Mrs Harper would feel the same way. But see you on the banquette at Studio 54.
