Hello again and welcome to this week's edition of Laura's Links.
There is lots to talk about, as usual. I'm sure a lot of you want to talk about the Epstein files, so I've put a couple of links below that link to Epstein related stories/analyses. I find the entire subject pretty barfy and there are other people out there, including Mark, who are covering the data dump much more comprehensively and intelligently than I could, so I'm not going to spend much time on it.
Yes, it's a big, salacious, disgusting and never-ending story, but I think an even bigger one dropped this past week. I think we are "here" now, guys: at the official beginning of the end of trans. You know how we got here? Because of the brave, completely maimed and mutilated de-transitioners who are now making hospitals and doctors (to borrow an acronym from an inimitable fellow I once worked with in the fundraising game) FOTD - Fork Over The Dough. For your reading "pleasure", please take a look at a more comprehensive analysis here.
I am so glad that this is starting to cost people real money, because it seems to be the only way this evil will end. Yes it's disappointing to think that it is not because of the moral failings, and not because adults who should have known better could be shamed into finally doing the right thing, not because it was finally recognized that this perverted faux-science, highly profitable, perverted, fetish-based, Wokestapo hokum fakery destroyed healthy children forever and wrecked families all over the world, not because it is one of the most noxious and evil things America has ever exported to the world.
Nope. Not because of any of those things.
Because of money. Sigh.
But I'll take the win regardless. I predict the house of cards is going to start to come down very, very fast. I can barely keep up with the pace of articles already confirming my prediction: see this story from California and here, too.
Let's hope and pray that this is the first nail in the coffin of this most evil, social-medical disaster. This would be a great way to start the new year.
Have a good weekend and I'll see you in the comments.

When I first saw the sub-header of this story, I thought it was a weird Stockholm Syndrome kind of piece about a family forgiving a murder, and not wanting the criminal deported for that reason. I'm glad I read the piece, it gave me food for thought. What do you think about this? If it was likely that a convicted murderer would never serve time in their home country, would you argue for them to serve time (or perhaps face the death penalty) in your own country, or support deporting them knowing there was a real risk that they might never face justice or serve time?
A Pizzagate/Epstein data dump.

The Great Walkbackening, Reckoning and Accounting:
"Probably the biggest sin of the pandemic was the idea that it's scientifically justified for us to treat fellow human beings as mere biohazards...That idea is evil in and of itself, but when it had the imprimatur of science behind it, it was the root cause of so much of the upheaval that we saw during the pandemic."
"We still have a chance at least for a draw in this match. But if we do not even try to understand what happened and why, it will be a crushing defeat. And it will be repeated in future matches, first with the team of global warm-mongers, who are already warming up in the locker rooms."

Jews and Israel:
Ehud Barak is disgusting. Utterly disgusting.
I don't often agree with Brett Stephens, but even a stopped clock, etc... Burn. It. Down.

Europe:
Look at the way this SOB judge is smiling. He appears happy that the victim is upset, it looks like he is getting off on her distress, doesn't it? This is the face of evil, not justice.

Human and Culinary Grace:
I was thinking about the summer I studied French in the south of France as a teenager. There was a restaurant that served a salad that I loved. It had mounds of warm goat cheese and it was one of the most delicious things I had ever eaten. My memory also includes warm slices of cucumber, but maybe that is just because they were layered under the cheese. Anyway, it popped into my mind and I started to check if it was a real thing, or just something I imagined. Sure enough, I found several recipes for this quintessential French salad and this one is a pretty close approximation of what I had in Provence all those years ago. It's pretty and delicious. I'm going to try this. Culinary art is a real thing. Bon Appetite!
