Greetings, and thanks for tuning in to another edition of Laura's Links. As you may have surmised by now, I usually put the finishing touches on my column on Wednesdays and hit the "send" button to my editor late Wednesday evenings. Sometimes, due to real life activities, I have to schlepp things out a little and hit "send" on Thursdays in the very very VERY early hours of the morning.
This is one of those Thursdays!
I've been preoccupied with some 'sandwich generation' issues which I'll discuss in more detail below and also am still reading a few more news stories about the latest antisemitic terrorist stabbing attack in London, England. If anyone would like to explain to me slowly why Britain "needs" to add a steady supply of obese, low IQ Muslim terrorists from Somalia to its citizenry, I'll watch for that in the comments.
I asked Mr. C last night at dinner if he had heard about what happened and he kind of made a face which was a combination of 'no' and also 'what do you expect'. It's kind of hard to keep track of these 'events' because there are so many. It's also frustrating and cringey comical to keep hearing the standard "THIS IS NOT WHO WE ARE" or "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE" kind of comments made by various members of the wanking, ruling classes and their media and law enforcement piss boys. What is so hard to understand about the fact that yes, this is who you are now, and that it is now completely acceptable. This is the natural extension of 'globalize the intifada' and if you think I am only focused on the attacks on Jews, you would be wrong. I have said for many years that it only ever starts with us, it never ends with us. Antisemitism is a disease of the soul. It rots the human spirit. It cannot be contained once unleashed without tremendous will and effort. That the Jews are a barometer of civility and civilized life is not something I love about my people and faith, it's the cross we bear so to speak, but it is simply a fact.
And basically, that's where I'm at with the diversity situation in jolly old England and in Europe in general. Unless there is a robust, immediate, muscular and unrelenting re-immigration program implemented in these places, there will be no turning back. That means: RIP civilization in the UK and Europe and soon to be RIP in Canada, and Australia for sure, and in a couple of decades it will be the same situation in America as well. Theodore Dalrymple summarizes it like this: We Shall Not Fight on the Beaches (do make sure to read the whole thing).

Over the past few years (I'm middle aged now), I've been dealing with certain standard issues of aging parents and certain issues that I thought were somewhat unique. And G-d bless them both, I still have my Mom and Dad with me - for that I am truly thankful and lucky. We sibs see these as "extra innings".
The comical thing is that the things that I may have thought were somewhat unique to my family and situation are actually not unique at all. In conversation with my siblings, over the course of several crises and even a little sprinkle of ongoing litigation (G-d willing, a story to be told by me at some point in the future), I've landed on some certain truths.
One is that there are certain well-known, troubling archetypal characters in fairy tales for very good reasons.
It is also clear to me that there are hundreds - if not thousands of law firms - in Canada and throughout North America specializing in family law and estate law for a reason. Add into that a multitude of my other hard-won insights on Boomer parenting and Boomer divorcing that require patience and processing and, well, you may be able to start to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
So a big shout out to all those dealing with complex family situations and people, to those who manage to keep their peace and joy while muddling through any type of aforementioned guck, to those who are still struggling and to those who cheerlead us while on this road.
Peace out, homies and see you in the comments.

North America:
"The demand for White Supremacy has so outstripped the supply in America that a leftist organization was literally funding racism."
"When a culture decides to protect and even reward people for promoting anti-Jewish terrorism - you know, intifada - that culture breaks the civic bonds that hold society together. If you think you can get away with encouraging Jew-hatred while preserving taboos and proscriptions on other destructive impulses, you're in for a wild ride."

Demoted, not fired. Canada has become a low trust society in record time.
I think it is good that there is pushback and public shaming via lawsuits. But ultimately, it is the taxpayer who ends up subsidizing the craziness - as always. The litigation should serve as a warning shot, but there's no end to the craziness and aspirational craziness of the political left so...
