Hi everyone and welcome to this week's edition of Laura's Links. It's been another crazy one around the planet with an added bonus dose of horrific and lethal antisemitism/anti-Westernism peeking out in Montreal, New York City and elsewhere in North America.
I'm sure by now you have read about the police officer and the Jewish bystander who were murdered in Montreal; one by a deranged, anti-Western, Jew-hating leftist kook terrorist and one by the murdered cop's female partner. The media is desperately trying to run cover for the leftist Wokestapo savage, calling him a "right-wing incel", etc - the talking points clearly went out. I knew that Ezra Levant's Rebel News had published the entire manifesto and that it was not "right wing incel" territory - but surprise surprise, when I Googled it, not only was Google not showing me the manifesto, but it also wouldn't link to Rebel News. It was, however, to be found on Rebel's X feed, if you are interested.
"Not the Bee" put it this way: "Report-Female cop shoots rabbi outside Pornhub office in Canada while hiding from Marxist gunman who killed immigrant officer named Mohamed." It's hard to beat that, and I'm hard pressed to find a better summary of the absolute disaster that is the Canada of today and ditto for much of what's left of the Western world.
In a similar vein, I saw the case of the Jewish left-wing politician who was kicked out of a Brooklyn coffee shop presumably for being a living, breathing Jew. I've been saying for quite a while that the Jews of North America are struggling to understand that the golden age of North American Jewry is over. I really wonder when or if the Jews of North America will ever understand that.
I saw Scott Jennings say on CNN with respect to this incident: "It's not 1930's Germany. This is the United States of America". If you are in a red state or a rural area, then it probably (hopefully) still feels like America. But if you are in a blue state, or in New York in particular, it's welcome to Mamdanistan time. The Jews are just the first casualties of such waves of violence, chaos and decay - never the last; but the places that they are forced out of, or pogromed out of, or Nakba'd out of never get better or improve with time.
I have a bad, bad feeling about all of this.
You all know how I love being right, but I would love to be wrong, hugely wrong about all of this.
American friends, do keep your powder dry and have a good weekend.
I'll drop by the comment section as I'm able!

North America:
"Welp. I think we're done here."
It sure is a test. And we failed.
On Mamdani: "In his politics, Israel becomes the final expression of colonial Europe, and the Jew is recast not as a victim but as a symbol of enduring Western power. Opposition to Israel thus functions as a continuation of decolonization, a moral conflict that transforms the old fight against empire into a permanent contest between innocence and guilt."

A boy was thrown by a stranger into a crocodile enclosure in Britain and nobody seems to care. Ho hum. This civilization is decaying rapidly into chaos. Absolutely horrendous.

The ordeal continues. No forgiveness without repentance and punishment.
The aftermath of this evil human escapade will be felt for generations.

Europe:
That provocative 10-year-old's skirt was too high!
This seems fine, the cost of diversity, etc...
Woe unto us. Lord help us.
