As readers may recall, since I came out of my coma, the docs have advised me to steer clear of stress-inducing things like the Internet and spend more time communing with the flora and fauna. Unfortunately, the flora and fauna are all ablaze right now. So, with my carers out of the room, I fired up my rusting laptop and stumbled on the picture at right - of seventeen-year-old Khadija Patel from Bolton visiting the House of Lords to receive her "British Citizenship Award" for "empowering young women". I am not entirely persuaded that it is seventeen-year-old Miss Patel under the body bag: it could just as easily be Benny Hill's diminutive bald-headed Ulster sidekick. Not so long ago my friend (and Mark Steyn Cruisemate) Leilani Dowding won Miss Great Britain and went on to represent the UK at Miss Universe. I doubt she'll enjoy watching Miss GB circa 2040. Oh, wait, I did the burqa-babe beauty-pageant gags twenty-four sodding years ago:
I glanced at my watch. "For crying out loud, when are they going to raise the curtain?"
"They have raised the curtain," said David. "Those are the girls."
I peered closer at the shapeless line of black cloth, and he was right: there they all were, from Miss Afghanistan to Miss Zionist Entity.
I sighed. "How long till the swimsuit round?"
"This is the swimsuit round," said David.
Be that as it may, that photograph is the future of the entire west in a nut's hell - whoops, sorry, I mean "nutshell". And by "future" I mean right now. By 2031 in England and Wales, the majority of primary-school pupils will be children of "foreign" parents: that's to say, for those of you in the maternity ward right now, your kid will belong to the first generation of Englishmen to live as a minority in England - assuming any meaningful change to current policies will remain as irredeemably déclassé as it has, lo, this last quarter-century. For a while, there will still be middle-aged chaps of apparent Anglo-Celtic heritage beaming in the Palace of Westminster as they hand out prizes to their demographic displacers - and then, soon enough, the presiding old blokes will be non-British too.
Will Englishmen submit to that? As meekly as they have submitted to so many other provocations, such as "the Harry Potter Megamosque"? As Carl Benjamin points out, this will go on until the English decide it has to stop. So how's that going? Michael Gove, the long-serving Conservative cabinet minister and current editor of The Spectator, is still bleating on about "integration". But, when you're the minority, why does anyone need to integrate with you and your "values"? Au contraire, in a 2030 kindergarten class, you'll need to integrate with them. It's one thing to stand idly by as you're dispossessed of the only homeland you have, but to do so while still taking seriously the likes of Gove should be beyond any self-respecting adult.
As the old gag has it, who ya gonna believe - me or your lyin' eyes? That murderous Berlin jihadist? All the fault of the "far right"; everybody knows that:
On the NTV television channel, one journalist said that the greatest threat to sexual minorities came from the far-right. Berlin's public television station RBB agreed, attacking the far-right as well... The German television actor Marcus Mittermeier went further... He suggested that the attack would benefit the AfD in next month's state election in Saxony-Anhalt.
In Paris, three women were stabbed by a fellow who declaimed that he had been "sent by Allah". But what does he know? As in Berlin, the problem is not the young lady bleeding to death on the sidewalk, but those seeking to "politicise" the event. If that does not seem terribly logical, you forget that, for most of the ruling elite, it is too late to "save" old France or old Germany, even if they wanted to; therefore, the best that can be done is to use the daily human sacrifices to accelerate the transition to whatever's next. Once you discern that that's all the plan there is, the statements of Merz and Macron calling on us to resist those who would "divide" us make perfect sense. It's not the guy stabbing a Parisian demoiselle who's being "divisive"; it's you for wanting to make a big deal out of it.
For a glimpse of how deep the psychosis goes, here is the BBC reporting on the opening of a new mosque in comparatively immigrant-free Japan:
Mohideen goes to the Osaka mosque every day for prayers and other duties as a member of the local Islamic community. He says he has never felt that his life was in danger.
You don't say. Yet the Beeb's Tokyo correspondent did say, and with a straight face - even as they're still hosing the blood off the sidewalks of two European capitals. Because actual victims of Muslims must never be allowed to distract us from the hypothetical victimhood of some blameless Mohammedan.
That narrative is set in stone in the western media: the footsoldiers abetting our demographic dispossession will never change their minds. To save your society, it will be necessary to press on without them.
Meanwhile, in America, just to underline the totality of the wasted years, the official observances of 9/11's twenty-fifth anniversary will take place under the watchful eye of New York's first Muslim mayor:
BREAKING 🔴
Mamdani states he WILL be attending the 9/11 commendations despite survivors and victim families stating they do not want him there.
He's trolling them in my opinion, and it's disgusting. There's thousands of signatures now. Get this Islamist out. pic.twitter.com/6jetQ3bpm0

I see that today marks five months since the launch of Operation Epic Fury. In true Covid style, the two weeks to flatten the mullahs is now stretching lazily on to the distant horizon. I refer readers to my column on the very first day of the new war. The takeaway:
The inability to use forty per cent of total planet-wide military spending to accomplish even modest strategic goals should shame arses like Graham and Thoroughly Modern Milley.
But such creatures are beyond shame and so it has happened yet again. So much for the "major combat operations" of February 28th:
President Trump says "major combat operations" are underway and that his goal is "freedom for the people".
How's that working out? Seen much of Crown Prince Reza lately? As for nuclear ayatollahs, no one's talking about that either. The sole remaining issue on any potential negotiating table is figuring out a way to persuade the Iranians into restoring the Strait of Hormuz to the conditions prevailing on February 27th, so that Trump can declare victory and go home, and maybe in time to save Susan Collins' Senate seat. As I wrote on the second day of Epic Fury:
Even if you think the Middle East should be more of a priority than the middle west, the US has demonstrated no capacity whatsoever for warmongering in the national interest. Years ago I summarised the American way of war as "shock and awe for forty-eight hours and then a long slow bleed out over two decades". The Pentagon generally wins the first two days, and then loses the next two decades.
By the way, the self-quote above is from a Fox News show on which I interviewed a chap called JD Vance... As Vance made plain last year in Munich, he agrees with Adam Johnston that the critical battlefield is the home front: as the Civilisational Deathwatch clock on our home page makes plain, on the present trajectory, by 2040 western Europe will be just a cookie-cutter Krappistan while the US will be a bloody and violent Latin-American favela. Even if one accepts that the mullahs are itching to nuke the capitals of the west, they could not inflict as much existential damage on Europe as such rock-ribbed conservatives as Angela Merkel and Boris Johnson have done, and on America as Joe Biden has done. There is no point going to war for Qom and Kandahar while surrendering Malmö and Minnesota.
Incidentally, as I asked that first week, why would Iran want to nuke New York City? It's now the fiefdom of a Ugandan Shia Twelver who believes everything the ayatollahs do. As I wrote in America Alone - that's Anno Domini Two Thousand and sod-bollocking Six:
You don't need to fly jets into skyscrapers and kill thousands of people. As a matter of fact, that's a bad strategy, because even the wimpiest state will feel obliged to respond. But if you frame the issue in terms of multicultural 'sensitivity' the wimp state will bend over backwards to give you everything you want – including, eventually, the keys to those skyscrapers.
And so it has proved - in New York as in London, Paris and Berlin.
My disinclination to sign on to Washington's latest incendiary incompetence prompted the biggest exodus of Mark Steyn Club members in our history. But I didn't survive drones in Ukraine and a post-Ukraine coma in order to be a pom-pom girl for something that never had any prospect of success. My friends who did so have gone awfully quiet since those triumphalist columns of March. We have spent a quarter-century like the British guns at Singapore - pointing the wrong way. If we do not at least learn that lesson after this fiasco, we will fully deserve our fate.
~Thank you to all those new members of The Mark Steyn Club in this our tenth year, and thank you to those old members who've signed up a chum for a SteynOnline Gift Certificate or a Steyn Club Gift Membership. Steyn Clubbers span the globe, from London, Ontario to London, England to London, Kiribati. We hope to welcome many more new members in the years ahead.
