Greetings, and thank you for being here for another batch of Laura's Links.
My finishing touches to the column are being handled in between the Passover shopping and cleaning, which is almost all coming to a closure. Me and Mr. C just wolfed down a falafel and fries, the last leavened goodies (the pita) that we will be having for the next week. Our house is now fully Kosher For Passover, and we just have to move the Passover products and dishes into the fully cleaned kitchen.
By the time you read this, the holiday will have already started on Wednesday night. This year, us Cohens are lucky to be invited to a Seder with family, which means a lot less work for us this year (yay). Preparing for a Seder is a huge production. We were instructed by our incredibly generous and gracious hosts just to bring ourselves, our appetites, good spirits and some Shmurah Matzah (hand made Matzah). This is really the best kind of invitation possible.
I really love Passover. We do the entire Seder from beginning to end, with all the songs so we usually end late. I love the telling of the story, I love living the connection to my ancestors, I love picturing myself leaving Egypt, seeing myself as part of the Exodus and receiving the Torah and I love passing this along to my children.

I had a friend who once said that there were two groups of people in the world: those who divide people into two groups and those who don't. Ha ha! Get it?!?! Anyway, with respect to the war in Iran, there does seem to be at least two or three groups in the world now.
One group is made up of those who think that President Trump has brought disaster upon America and the world with his brand new Afghanistan like quagmire, and that the war in Iran is being fought because of the sinister Jews - Israeli PM Netanyahu in the role of Chief Sinister Jew, in concert with the rather ghastly combination of Lindsay Graham, Mark Levin, and Jared Kushner. The nasty Jews hypnotized him by showing him Power Point presentations of the"Trump Straits of Hormuz" and freshly minted blueprints for the new Trump Tower of Teheran or something like that. To me, the pessimism about America winning a war is warranted - but I think this is a different President altogether and that the partnership between America in Israel is also something very new and effective.
But other than that, I'm not on that side. This position also has some extremely strange bedfellows who make my hair stand on end. There is a rah-rah pompom group as well and I don't care for that extreme either (see aforementioned Lindsay Graham and Mark Levin).
Another group is cautiously optimistic. I would put myself in that group. I'm actually amazed at how few of the successes seem to be mentioned in the world media. I'm not surprised, I'm really amazed. It kind of reminds me of when I did a live stream of the release of the final 20 living hostages released from Hamas while President Trump was on his way to, and setting foot in, Israel to speak at the Knesset. It was absolutely mesmerizing - the energy, the vibe, and the absolutely magical majesty of American greatness in the air. And it seemed to be just a tiny blip in America, it was so strange.
I feel the same way right now.
There are absolutely astonishing things going on right now. And I still believe that President Trump was spared death on live television because he had a mission to fulfill in this world. And I see Israel as part of that. I know it's hard, or almost impossible for some people to imagine, but there is a realignment happening and it will be a good thing. I also cannot believe that President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu would undertake an endeavor such as this without an attainable vision. I'm not saying that just in a namby-pamby sort of way. I mean also that neither of them seems to me the kind of leader that would risk their entire legacies with a massive flop, the magnitude of which and the strategic importance of which would tarnish them and the Western world in ways which are almost too numerous and incomprehensible to utter.
I think both President Trump and PM Netanyahu understand the following: "There are two ways to understand the Middle East, and which one you choose determines whether Western civilization will survive or not." Why? Because it's a war of ideas. And some things are worth fighting for.
We all know by now, in almost every Western country with the exception of several formerly "eastern" European countries, what happens when you surrender your identity, your language, your religion, your culture, and your borders. You get an invasion of third world hordes, you get rape, crime, abuse and chaos. You get murder and no-trust societies.
And you get pitiful excuses for men, who publish some of the most degenerate, sickening and pathetic words I've ever seen. I want you to read every word of this post, because it gives a very clear view toward what we are up against.
So I'm in favor of fighting this in any and all forms, including the current war.
Wishing all our Jewish readers Chag Kasher V'Sameach and a Happy Easter to our Christian readers.
See you on the other side of Passover!

North America:
Everything seems fine in Canada.
Canadian Jews are living in lala land, example twenty gazillion million. And this is a doctor writing the post, meaning he is an intelligent person. It is amazing that highly intelligent people cannot or will not see what is happening. Lots of outrage! Lots of "unacceptable"! But that and about $10 (at today's value of the Canadian dollar) will get you a cup of coffee at Singh Hortons (not my joke, credit to David Menzies).
When they tell you who they are and what they are going to do to you, you should take them at their word.
Nice rack! (Seriously, though, what the ACTUAL FRESH HELL???)
