A tweet from our old nemesis and adjudicated liar Michael E. Mann caught our attention over the weekend:
The scenarios aren't predictions, so they're not "right" or "wrong". They are possible futures depending on our actions. The good news is emissions are now tracking below older "business-as-usual" pathways because of climate policy in spite of Trump...@MichaelEMann
Followed by one of his more characteristic rants about one of the climate scientists that testified against him in our trial:
By the way, this Trump post didn't happen by accident. It's a result of a carefully crafted narrative being promoted by polluters, petrostates and right wing think tanks, built on claims by professional propagandists like #RogerPielkeJr of the American Enterprise Institute...@MichaelEMann
Behold the "Trump post":
"GOOD RIDDANCE! After 15 years of Dumocrats promising that "Climate Change" is going to destroy the Planet, the United Nations TOP Climate Committee just admitted that its own projections (RCP8.5) were WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!" - President DONALD J. TRUMP 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/qd9EulmjKh

So, what is this "RCP8.5"? Pielke helpfully explains in a recent interview:
~ Meanwhile, another old nemesis - Ofcom - has announced a new investigation. From The Telegraph:
GB News is facing an investigation over claims it broke broadcasting rules by failing to challenge Donald Trump when he called climate change "a hoax".
Ofcom said it had launched an investigation into a re-run of a GB News interview with Mr Trump for the midday broadcast of The Weekend.
The regulator previously declined to launch an investigation into the original airing of the same interview 12 hours earlier, on GB News' The Late Show Live, stating the programme had featured "alternative perspectives" as part of a panel discussion...
Ofcom is also investigating Talk TV and TalkRadio per The Guardian:
A U-turn by the UK's broadcasting regulator Ofcom means it will investigate complaints of climate change denial on television and radio for the first time since 2017. The move marks a victory for campaigners who have accused the regulator of allowing some broadcasters "to spout dangerous climate lies" and "flout" rules on accuracy and impartiality...
This follows an inquiry of the Energy Security and Net Zero Committee in the UK Parliament in January titled "Building support for the energy transition". Here, "building support" is code for "suppressing dissent".
Ofcom says that the scientific principles behind man-made climate change are broadly settled yet no complaints about climate misinformation have been upheld of the over a thousand received since 2020.
The session will scrutinise the roles of Ofgem, Ofcom, and DESNZ's Mission For Clean Power 2030 Unit: what they know about public understanding of the transition, and what evidence they can provide that their actions are making a difference.
As with Ofcom's case against Mark on his Covid "vaccine" coverage, truth will not be a factor in the finding. Ofcom's expected role here is clear: not as a regulator but as a propagandist for the Labour government's attempt to transition to Net Zero policies.
The same policies that have been based on the kind of models that have just been thrown out...
~ As to Mark's case proceeding now in the DC Court of Appeals, the case has been referred by the court to mediation. We will keep you updated on any developments as they occur.
