Tal, It is great that you and Laura are able to pinch hit while Mark is still recovering, and I look forward to seeing you again on the Steyn Cruise in Quebec City in October. My question: I have seen many ups and downs in the second Trump term, but I am unwavering in my support for him. A major factor in my high regard for him is the way he kept fighting through four phony multiple-felony indictments, a half billion of phony civil damage judgments, crazy courts enjoining him from everything and a do-nothing "Republican" Congress. What is your overall view of President Trump these days?

Hello Laura & Tal. I was a supporter of President Trump - still am really - but I am saddened by two things, like Tal: First that he doesn't seem to follow through after starting something (DOGE, Iran, etc.). And second, the level of personal corruption. But here's my question: Here in Canada we have the insufferable, corrupt, anti-Zionist Carney. His main opponent is Pierre Poilievre, who seems appealing to me in many respects. But will he also prove a disappointment should he become PM?

Hello Mr Bachman, further to your articles on The Odyssey it'll be interesting to see if this $250 Million film will be the biggest flop ever but what makes a producer 'pull the pin' on such a bizarrely cast film do you think?
Hello Laura, what are your thoughts on women's football in general and how do you think Israel are as a team bearing in mind today's difficult game against Scotland for next years qualifier??

Tal's comments about Trump and his comments about soccer made an unexpected corelation for me. I have always disdained team sports (which I have never been good at) in favor of individual sports (which I was somewhat better at). In fact, I refer to much of fandom as "sports team fascism". My biggest beef with politics is that it seems to have devolved into a "my team forever, whatever" competition. I voted for Trump three times, but I don't particularly like the man. He is a brash New Yorker and a member of the elite. His lived experience is quite different from mine, but I appreciate what he's tried to do. Perhaps the Sports Team Fandom of MAGA has given them an unrealistic view of what a POTUS can actually accomplish. Put not your faith in men.

Hi Laura and Tal,
First, thanks for hosting and for your other contributions to Mark's endeavours.
An American friend told me that the sesquicentenary has so far been a damp squib compared with the buzz of the Bicentenary which he recalls nostalgically. He wasn't so much interested in the contrived big government showpieces but in the small scale local celebrations like Revolution re-enactments, parades and similar community events, and ordinary citizens spontaneously flocking to established attractions like the Liberty Bell.
He attributes the difference to the increasing political polarisation of the USA discouraging a sense of community. I imagine that if Mark were to comment on the issue he'd have something to say about the elites deliberately trashing national identity, uncontrolled immigration diluting the community's shared sense of connection with the past, and ever-increasing government regulatory barriers to anyone doing anything anywhere any time (unless the protagonists are progressive-approved sociopaths). If it were Australia I'd guess there'd also be an element of a change from "it's the Bicentenary - what are we going to do to celebrate?" to "it's the sesquicentenary - what's the government going to put on to celebrate?".
If you accept my friend's premise, do you think it's caused by any or all of those things, or perhaps something else?

Hi Laura and Tal
Mark Carnage finally felt the need to address the Jewish community this week, although based on his words, and more importantly, his actions, this was all a ruse.
I get you want to fill the room with friendly types - heckling would be rude - but we get the usual dinner party Jews who perpetually support the Liberal party no questions asked.
I, and most Jews I know, have little in common with these people except a shared heritage that is supposed to make us "lantsman", but I doubt it. Most of these people would be more at home in a hoity toity golf club than in an Orthodox synagogue.
There are rumours and discussions "out there" that President Trump is considering making Jewish Canadians a protected immigrant group should they wish to relocate to the USA. Aside from being a delicious poke in the eye to Mr. Carnage, does this all make sense? What are you hearing?

Dear Tal and Laura,
I was concerned to see that Serenade Radio has now removed On the Town from its schedule. Please God, Mark will be back soon, tuxed-up and puttin' on the Ritz.
The harrowing death of Henry Novak in England has illustrated how the practices of DEI can dehumanise people and rob them of basic empathy. If we peacefully protest against this self-inflicted scourge we are ignored and our efforts go unreported by the media. I cannot see any change unless everyday people get mad. Is rioting now the only option?
Thank you both for 'pinch hitting' for Mark, or, to use a cricketing analogy, for being his nightwatchman.
