Big changes at Homeland Security, major leadership changes leading, I believe, to closing the border. Just today, Fox pointed out that the NYT and WaPo have admitted the Border Crisis exists. So exactly why have the NYT and WaPo changed their tune? This is a momentous change. I believe they finally figured out they cannot win with the Democrats and are jumping for the Trump train before it leaves them behind. The border situation with rapid recent escalation offers them the opportunity to save face. In addition, they realize that Barr and Spying have doomed the old guard Democrats and the Obama-Clinton axis will be prosecuted. And that leaves only crazies in the Democrat arena. No winners there. I would appreciate any thoughts or insights. Thanks.

Growing up in Scotland, I always remember being taught that the bagpipes were classified as a "weapon of war" by the dreaded English. Now, I learned from Mark that the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife administers that wonderful instrument on the US border similarly to an Elk - watching the massed pipes and drums at the Military Tattoo just won't be the same now! Great listening to a show that veers from one extreme to the other, injected throughout with humour. Good stuff.

I find AOC a genuinely dangerous person. Clearly she has no understanding of economics other than the fevered imaginings of socialist utopians. The fact that she was able to drive Amazon from New York on the basis of a patently absurd and false argument is quite astonishing, and she doesn't care. So, yes, she is clueless on serious subjects that affect the lives of real people. However, she has skills as a political provocateur. She has, as almost all Democrats do, an instinctive understanding of how organized criminality works. Furthermore, her ambition, arrogance, and chutzpah know no bounds. She is, effectively, a young, brown Hillary Clinton.
I don't believe President Trump is thin skinned. The fact that he is the first person in high political office to fight back effectively against the political narrative of the Left does not equal being thin skinned. The fact that the attacks on him are relentless and malicious to the Nth degree and yet he beats them at their own game is impressive. He is taking on the wolves and hyenas and beating them back every day. It is wonderful to behold and long overdue. If clobbering the disingenuousness of these clowns is thin skinned then let us all be thin skinned.

I agree with your second paragraph, entirely, Todd. President Trump is as Mark said, a duck who lets it all roll off and the thin skin is an act. I think AOC is a total idiot parading around as a self-anointed queen bee but nobody has the guts to challenge her vacuity. It's sad to watch, but in a way, it's fascinating watching how helpless the old guard is to address her vacuity. The Dems are a lost party veering on self-destruction but they seem to be the last to want to learn about it.
I agree with Tammy Bruce, though, to stay vibrant the country needs two respectable, strong parties and the sane mainstream leadership in each party needs to step up to the plate for respectable vibrancy to return to politics. I like what i'm seeing from Jordan, Meadows and Gaetz. I like Cotton, too, from Arkansas. I'm sure there are others who are earnestly trying to tackle problems the country faces. I like this man, Kris Kobach, from Kansas who might have won the last gubernatorial race if it had not been for some screwy Republican Party politics going on there. Kobach has some very good ideas. Republicans in power should pay attention to him.

Could one say that she's only the pretty face and occasionally the gaping maw of a team of creatures?

I see taking on the extreme left \ the identitarian left as a multi-fold exercise. For all of us it's "Don't feed the beast". And there is the fact that the left have a negative replenishment rate (birth rate). Us Conservatives have a positive replenishment rate. And children of good Conservative parents tend to very strongly stay Conservative. On that, long term, we have already won. Then there is the whole education issue. Schools need to be selected according to their standards of ethics and morality. Universities can be completely evolved out of the picture and be replaced by online Universities. Education to a large extent can be put online.

Totally blanked out about Devin Nunes. He was there for President Trump when nobody else was. Great man!

I like your point about the positive and negative replenishment rates but the Left has been maneuvering to get the votes from those not legally able to vote, from behind the borders, from the pool of felons, from the deceased and now wishing to tap into younger age group. Is Boodjidup Beach known for the surfing? Seems kind of off the beaten track. Must be nice.

Sounds like once you arrive there's no need to depart!
I just tried paddle surfing last fall in West Maui. It wasn't too hard once the optimal positioning for the feet is figured out, at an angle, although it took a few tumbles first. Beats lying around on a beach towel. Not sure if surfing waves is the logical next step. I might like to windsurf next, more or less motivated for the video op to leave to the grandkids: "Granny Franny Takes up Windsurfing in Boodjidup Beach" sounds awesome. Cowabunga, dude!

I: find it genuinely dangerous that you use the leftist's preferred Monogram for her instead of her name: Cortez. Please stop giving control of the language to the left. Cortez is her last-est name and the one that needs to be used. Don't permit her a BRAND. Marginalize her by not using their language.

Add to the latest news - the White House will be hosting a screening of the Gosnell movie!!
Fran Lavery  P. Gao • Apr 10, 2019 at 22:48
I hope they supply one box of tissues per attendee.

Was thinking how amazingly awesome this news is. How many theatres dropped it to make it go away, but the President of the United States noticed it? What a day for the creators/producers/director/cast!
Fran Lavery  P. Gao • Apr 10, 2019 at 23:53
Yes!! A great day, indeed! He's the Intrepid of the present, I think. And Netanyahu!!

His Lord High Adorable asks, "what do you make of AOC"? Answer: If I had access to many scrambled eggs I would bake them into limitless lovely soufflés, and appear on my next home Build-a-Soufflé-Yourself Instagram showing the rest of the world as a bonus feature how to make Zombies and the proper way to serve the soufflé with the Zombies. Any true red-blooded Southern dame with a bartending background will be proud of her achievements and have a flare for entertaining. She'll show the way forward to the rest of the Democratic Socialists by inviting all of the residents in the neighborhood on over to Anacostia for an open house. That will be the greatest launch for a socialistic presidential contender the world has ever seen. Never you mind that she's not eligible to run. The Zombies will keep coming to the Zombie well.
Maybe I should've consulted my cookbooks before commenting and I might've been the wiser that the soufflé requires the eggs to be separated first rather than scrambled. There exists a.real vacuum for a political soufflé instructional video, i'm sure. Calling on AOC to fill the void.
