As readers will have likely heard by now, yet another attempt was made on President Trump's life - this time at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Mark has much to say about it here.
If the democrats were not so determined to obstruct Trump on every single thing - even things he's uniquely qualified to accomplish, such as building a ballroom - there might be a proper venue in which to host large gatherings. Having attended events at the White House in the past, I concur wholeheartedly with Amy Poehler's observation that the place is "janky". I would add that the rooms are "pokey". For instance, the State Dining Room can only seat 140 guests - and that's with 14 people on tables meant for ten. I will be curious to see where they host King Charles III on Tuesday - big tents on a muddy lawn doesn't sound terribly secure or dignified...
UPDATE - at least one democrat is making sense:
We were there front and center.
That venue wasn't built to accommodate an event with the line of succession for the U.S. government.
After witnessing last night, drop the TDS and build the White House ballroom for events exactly like these. pic.twitter.com/eeUBnlSe5y
