In case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark:
~The week began with Steyn on "The Greg Gutfeld Show" and an unlikely intersection of showtunes and heavy metal - and less luridly with Mark celebrating a great song - Stephen Foster's "Beautiful Dreamer" - and a great poem - Rudyard Kipling's Recessional.
Steyn's Sunday Poem and all our video content is made possible through the support of members of The Mark Steyn Club, for which we're profoundly grateful. For more on the Club, see below.
~On Monday Mark addressed the Harvey Weinstein scandal in "Contradictions and Condescension". It was our most-read piece of the week.
~On Tuesday Steyn hosted another live Clubland Q&A, taking questions from Mark Steyn Club members around the planet on various aspects of elite condescension from Hollywood to the European Union.
~Wednesday saw further developments in Hollywood's Weinstein meltdown, which Mark addressed in "Do As the Romans Do", and later in his midweek appearance on Fox News with Tucker Carlson. Click below to watch:
~On Thursday Steyn took notice of the several revisions to the timeline of the Las Vegas shooting, and the burglary of Stephen Paddock's home. He was not impressed.
~On Friday we launched the latest in our series of audio adventures, Tales for our Time: This time Mark's reading Anthony Hope's classic tale of Ruritanian romance and intrigue, The Prisoner of Zenda. Our earlier adaptations - Conan Doyle's The Tragedy of the Korosko; H G Wells' The Time Machine; and Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent - were all big hits with listeners, and this new serialization looks as if it will be, too. You can find Part One here, and Part Two here. Tales for Our Time is made possible through the support of members of The Mark Steyn Club. For more on the Club, see below.
~For our weekend movie date, Mark picked something from the now reviled Harvey Weinstein and two of his staunchest defenders, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon: Good Will Hunting.
Next month Mark will be honored with Kellyanne Conway and Diane Hendricks at the Independent Women's Forum annual awards gala in Washington. If you're in the vicinity of the DC Swamp and would like to attend, please click here and enjoy a special discount on the ticket price by entering the promo code STEYN at the bottom of the ticket information box.
