Mark Steyn

A Se'nnight of Steyn: May 12-18

The seventh birthday celebrations continue at The Mark Steyn Club...

All twenty-nine episodes of Mark's narration of Agatha Christie's The Secret Adversary are now available for streaming.

And, Mark's new show at Serenade Radio is proving very popular.

Coming up in the weeks ahead:

Mark has been granted judicial review against UK state censor Ofcom, for its attempts to suppress the truth regarding the Covid-19 vaccine. The King's Bench Division of the English High Court will hear Mark's case on June 11, 2024.

And, in The Superior Court of The District of Columbia, Mark's attorney will respond to Michael Mann's objection to a new trial. Followers of the case may recall that the jury returned with their unconstitutional one million dollar punitive award - after Michael Mann's lawyer urged the jury to do so in order to "serve as an example" to prevent "these attacks on Climate Scientists..." improperly invoking President Trump and January 6th.

These fights for free speech are not being funded by wealthy sugar daddies but rather, by you, our loyal readers. Thank you. Your renewed subscription helps keep us in this fight.

Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark:

~ On Sunday - also known as Mother's Day in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and various other places - Mark paid homage to mother songs in Steyn's Song of the Week.

~ Mark's Monday column predicted that diversity would be our death.

~ Tuesday's Notebook previewed the aforementioned upcoming hearing in the UK and included the great Steve McIntyre's examination of Mark's take on the dangers of the third shot - as more of those dangers reveal themselves.

A Se'nnight of Steyn: May 5-11

First, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers among our readers in America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere... Mark will have some special Mother's Day content here at SteynOnline later today.

Also, a very happy seventh birthday to all of us in The Mark Steyn Club!

As longtime readers know, the club was born in May of 2017 at a crisis point. Mark was being sued for telling the truth. Ultimately, he won - thanks to this club.

A decade before that, Mark successfully fought three different human rights commissions in Canada that tried to silence him for bringing attention to our changing demographics in the west - the consequences of which dominate the news every day now. This win for free speech in Canada was supported by people of all political stripes and resulted in the repeal of the onerous "Section 13".

The world has changed much since then - and so predictably Section 13 has reared its ugly head again in Canada, along with similar efforts to silence truth-tellers by the e-safety commissar in Australia, and by chief censor Ofcom in the United Kingdom. Mark's attempt to rein in Ofcom's overreach of its statutory powers will be heard in the King's Bench Division of the English Court in just one month's time.

And, in America, the unconstitutional verdict in Mann vs Steyn is being appealed - all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary.

As important as these fights for free speech are, one cannot live in the courthouse alone.... Thus, Mark has redoubled his efforts to provide a respite from litigation with his popular audio offerings - a new weekly music show - On the Town at Serenade Radio - and Tales for Our Time, narrations that take us back to another time.

Mark's current Tale for Our Time - The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie - is proving very popular and is available for streaming here. This is just one of many perks of membership in The Mark Steyn Club, not least the knowledge that this club helps Mark defend free speech. Thank you to all our members - from those who joined on that first day in 2017 to our newest members who have joined in the last few days. If your membership has lapsed, now is the perfect time to renew.

Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark:

~ On the eve of our seventh birthday, we kicked off celebrations with Mark's audio special - Non-Stop Number Ones: 2024 edition - featuring guests Randy Bachman, Bananarama, Don Black, Billy Bragg, Leslie Bricusse, Louis Clark, Simon Climie, Christopher Cross, Dana, Vincent Falcone Jr, The Human League, Julio Iglesias, Andy Kim, Lulu, Men at Work, Peter Noone, Gary Osborne, Artie Shaw, Paul Simon, Andy Williams and Ray Williams (plus bonus appearance by Ted Cruz).

~ Mark's Monday birthday column reflected on the lessons from his seminal book America Alone - and the recent election results in England.

~ His Tuesday's Notebook was devoted to globalism and its discontents.

~ On Wednesday Mark hosted his weekly Clubland Q&A - fielding questions from Mark Steyn Club members on many topics, from the calls for decapitations at George Washington University to the withdrawal of the AstraZeneca "vaccine" from the entire planet.

~ Laura's Links returned on Thursday with Laura Rosen Cohen's round-up of interesting links from around the world.

~ Mark's Friday column was a primer on the evolution of events in Malmö - culminating in Eurovision's contest there this weekend.

~ On Saturday, club members were treated to a preview of Mark's new Serenade Radio show - On The Town.

~ Later, in Rick's Flicks, Rick McGinnis reviewed classic film "Destination Tokyo".

A new week begins with a replay of Steyn's Song of the Week at Serenade Radio at 5:30pm UK time/ 12:30 pm North American Eastern Time.

A Se'nnight of Steyn: April 21-27

First, a warm welcome to a new member, Neil from West Lothian, Scotland who sent the following message:

I wish Mark all the best for his court action in the UK against OFCOM. I am definitely missing him on GB News.

Thank you, Neil! We hope you enjoy the perks of membership including access to Mark's narrations in Tales for Our Time as well as commenting privileges... and more!

It is also a terrific way to show your support for the upcoming court action you've mentioned. While it is impossible to make right the betrayal by GB News in its acquiescence to UK censor Ofcom, a win in the High Court may help restore free speech where it all began in 1215.

Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here's how the last seven days looked to Mark...

~ On Sunday, Mark continued our Henry Mancini centennial observances in Steyn's Song of the Week.

~ In honor of Earth Day, Mark recycled a few highlights from climate catastrophes of yore for Monday's column.

~ Mark's Tuesday Passover observance tackled the all too familiar problem of "Strolling While Jewish."

~ On Wednesday, Mark fielded questions from club members - from the woeful state of American education to the woeful state of the British police... All that plus a great conductor with some music for St George's Day and Anzac Day.

~ Laura Rosen Cohen returned on Thursday with her famous links from around the world.

~ Mark's Corrupt Courthouse Report on Friday covered legal developments in courthouses on both sides of the Atlantic.

~ The weekend wound up with a look at the biker movie in Rick's Flicks.

As noted above, Mark's popular narration of Agatha Christie's The Secret Adversary continues apace... members are invited to log in and have a listen here.

A new week begins later today at 5:30pm UK time/ 12:30pm North American Eastern Time with Steyn's Song of the Week at Serenade Radio.

A Se'nnight of Steyn: March 31- April 6

Next month, we will celebrate the seventh birthday of The Mark Steyn Club - founded as a way for Mark's readers and listeners to support his work including his interminable fight in the war on free speech in the courts and beyond.

As we approach this membership renewal period, we thank in particular the many founding members who joined the club on day one.

The next few months will be expensive as we take on Ofcom in the King's Bench Division of the High Court in the UK whilst pursuing our appeal of an unconstitutional jury verdict in the diseased DC court system.

If your membership has lapsed, we would be honored to welcome you back - and if you have been on the fence about joining, now is the perfect time to join the battle.
